During the Yankees' six-run fourth inning, Gregorius slugged a three-run home run off Minnesota Twins' Tyler Duffey, setting a single-season franchise home run record for a shortstop.
The homer surpassed Jeter's mark of 24 set in 1999.
That 1999 season was perhaps Jeter's best in his career - he had a career-best .989 OPS, led the American League with 219 hits and batted .349. Jeter finished sixth in AL MVP voting.
