According to New York City mayor
Bill de Blasio, at least 8 people have died and several others have been injured after a motorist drove a truck into a Lower Manhattan bike path.

LOS ANGELES — A moment of silence was observed before Game 6 of the World Series to recognize the terrorist attack that killed eight people in New York on Tuesday.
A man drove a rented pickup truck through a bicycle path and was shot by police after he exited the vehicle brandishing what officials called "imitation firearms.”
