Chicago White Sox catcher Welington Castillo will reportedly be suspended 80 games for performance-enhancing drug use.
The news was first reported by a Dominican Republic journalist on Twitter and later confirmed by The Athletic.
The announcement is expected to be made Thursday.
Castillo is in his ninth major-league season and the White Sox are his fifth different team. One year after notching his first 20-homer season while with the Baltimore Orioles, Castillo is hitting .270 with six home runs and 15 RBI in 111 at-bats for the White Sox.
