MLB playoffs: Eight crazy facts from Red Sox rout of Yankees in Game 3 of ALDS
The New York Yankees, a franchise with 27 World Series titles, had an evening in the Bronx to forget.
With the American League Division Series tied 1-1 against the rival Boston Red Sox, the Yankees suffered through a seven-run fourth inning and were routed 16-1 in Game 3 for their worst loss in postseason history.
It's the Yankees most lopsided defeat in 396 postseason games.
In a rivalry meeting in the postseason for the first time since the 2004 AL Championship Series, this loss would have left late owner George Steinbrenner quaking in his shoes.
A look at some of the highlights - or lowlights - from Game 3:

1st -- Cycle in postseason history, completed by Red Sox second baseman Brock Holt.

7 -- Most runs scored by the Red Sox in a postseason inning.

16 -- The second-most runs scored by the Red Sox in a postseason game.
16-1 -- The worst loss in Yankees playoff history. Before Monday, it was a 15-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 6 of the 2001 World Series.
