Two stolen World Series rings belonging to Terry Francona recovered by Arizona police

The Pima County (Arizona) Sheriff's Department recovered two World Series rings on Tuesday after they were stolen from current Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona on Nov. 7.

Investigators found out the rings, celebrating the Boston Red Sox's 2004 and 2007 titles, were sold to a sports memorabilia store in Phoenix and were able to recover them.

Detectives also discovered that someone fraudulently deposited a $245,830 check belonging to Francona earlier this year.

Deputy Marissa Hernandez, spokeswoman with the Pima County Sheriff's Department, told The Arizona Republic a search warrant had been issued and executed for the check but refused to say where the warrant was executed.

Hernandez wouldn't say if there were any suspects or if the crimes were related as of Tuesday afternoon.

The investigation remains ongoing.
