MLB opening day schedule: Matchups, starting pitchers, times for baseball's 2020 debut
After a nearly four-month delay, the 2020 Major League Baseball season began Thursday night with the first contests of a 60-game season that will be unlikely anything fans have seen before.
The rest of the league gets underway Friday with 14 games, starting with back-to-back NL Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom and the Mets taking on the NL East champion Atlanta Braves.
On Thursday, MLB announced an expanded postseason with eight teams from each league and a best-of-three Wild Card Series replacing the traditional wild-card game. The top two teams from each division qualify for the playoffs, along with the remaining top two teams in each league.
