Report: Yankees' Miguel Andujar robbed, assaulted in Dominican Republic

Yankees third baseman/outfielder Miguel Andujar was reportedly beaten and robbed Wednesday at his farm in the Dominican Republic, during an incident in which three shots were fired.
According to El Nuevo Diario and ESPN Deportes, Andujar was with three other relatives on his property and one of them was struck by a bullet to the fingerndujar was not shot but was assaulted by the two gunmen and robbed of a gold chain estimated to be worth $7,000.
Andujar’s father had his vehicle stolen during the assault. The abandoned vehicle was recovered, according to Listin Diario, adding that 10 people were currently under investigation by police.
Newsday reported that Andujar is expected to arrive Saturday in Tampa. Yankees players are due to report to spring training Sunday, three days after MLB’s 99-day lockout ended.
Andujar, who turned 27 earlier this month, played in just 45 games for the Yankees last year, another tough season as he battled hand and wrist ailments.
