After signing Juan Soto to a record $765 million contract and bringing back slugger Pete Alonso, the New York Mets enter spring training with sky-high expectations for 2025.

Coming off a surprise run to the National League Championship Series last season, the Mets gather in Port St. Lucie for spring training looking to recapture that magic – and play even deeper into October.

“Making a run like that in ’24 you realize how much has to go in to getting there,” Alonso said. “That’s addicting. That playoff feeling, playing that high-leverage baseball – that’s what it’s all about.

“That is the most addicting feeling I’ve ever had on a baseball field. It’s motivation to get back and get better.”
