With Houston Astros former Gold Glove winner Jose Altuve moving to the outfield this season, a new player will be crowned as the highest-paid second baseman.

Marcus Semien of the Texas Rangers is now the highest-paid at the position, earning $26 million. Altuve is scheduled to make $33 million.

Semien signed a seven-year $175 million deal with the Rangers before the 2022 season and helped them win a World Series in 2023.

Ketel Marte of the Arizona Diamondbacks ranks second at $19.6 million.
