Another Holliday is soon to join MLB when the 2025 MLB Draft takes place on Sunday, July 13.

Ethan Holliday, widely considered the top high school prospect of the cycle, is looking to join his brother, Jackson Holliday, as No. 1 picks in the draft. Jackson Holliday is currently the starting second baseman for the Baltimore Orioles, although Ethan Holliday is a much different player than his older brother.

Ethan Holliday, a 6-foot-4 infielder, has 65-grade power and projects as a top-end power hitter in MLB once he develops. He's likely to be more like his father, a former seven-time MLB All-Star who hit 316 career home runs.

Ethan Holliday appears to be a lock as a top-five pick in 2025, and whether that's at No. 1 to the Washington Nationals or No. 4 to the Colorado Rockies — where his father played — is to be determined.

Here's everything to know about Ethan Holliday's powerhouse baseball family, one that features loads of experience in the sport.

Ethan Holliday family tree

Ethan Holliday is the younger brother of Jackson Holliday, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2022 MLB Draft to the Baltimore Orioles, where he's currently the starting second baseman.

Both are sons of Matt Holliday, a seven-time MLB All-Star with the Colorado Rockies, Oakland Athletics, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees. Matt Holliday hit 316 home runs in his career with a .299 batting average and finished second in MVP voting in 2007 with the Rockies.

Ethan and Jackson Holliday's uncle, Josh Holliday, is the current head coach at Oklahoma State, where Matt Holliday played and Ethan and Jackson were both committed.

Josh Holliday has been at Oklahoma State, his alma mater, since 2013, and has led the Cowboys to three Big 12 tournament wins and a College World Series appearance in 2016. He was drafted in the ninth round of the 1999 MLB Draft and played two minor-league seasons before entering the coaching ranks.

Tom Holliday — Ethan and Jackson Holliday's grandfather — was the head at Oklahoma State from 1997-2003. A 40-year college coaching veteran as a pitching coach, he last coached pitchers at Auburn in 2015. Tom Holliday led the Cowboys to a College World Series appearance in 1999.

Ethan, Jackson, Matt and Josh Holliday all starred at Stillwater High School in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where Oklahoma State is located.
