Will Brennan honors bird he killed with line drive with a touching home run celebration

It’s been a rough week for the birds.

Days after Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zac Gallen killed a bird with a pitch during warmups, Cleveland Guardians outfielder Will Brennan hit a bird of his own with a line drive Monday. To get two bird baseball incidents in the span of a week 22 years after Randy Johnson’s famous bird-killing pitch is some real cosmic shenanigans.

On Tuesday, Brennan honored the bird he hit with an extremely touching tribute during a home run celebration. After knocking home a go-ahead solo home run in the bottom of the third, Brennan twisted his hands into a flying bird in a very clear tribute to the fallen animal.

Fly high, little bird.
