Video: Mariners have new look, new team

This year's team in Seattle is certainly not the same one that had a hugely disappointing season last year, including a 17-game losing streak.

The roster is barely recognizable and Mariners fans and players are hoping their record will be completely different as well. The core of the team is young and there is some veteran talent, but this team is built to win now.

If this season ends anything like last year, it's likely this roster could go through even more changes next off-season.

The fences in Safeco Field are a little closer this year in an effort to boost the Mariners' weak offense, but will that be enough? Between Mike Morse and Kendrys Morales, the Mariners are hoping there will be more than a few souvenirs heading into those outfield seats.

Switch-hitting Justin Smoak will likely be playing first for most of the season. He's young and has a good bat, but can he help boost this struggling offense?

This Mariners team certainly looks different, but do they have what it takes to put a bunch of wins together?

Or will it be the same old story in Seattle?

Watch and see.
