NEW YORK — The Mets' ceremony honoring the 1969 team seemed to go pretty much to plan on Saturday.

Except that they messed something up, and it was later discovered by Twitter users. During a tribute video, the Mets listed Jim Gosger and Jesse Hudson as dead.

Both are alive.

With a message that filled up one Citi Field scoreboard about 15 minutes before Sunday night's game against Atlanta, the Mets expressed deep regret to Gosger and Hudson for displaying their names and images in error during the "We Remember" segment of Saturday's ceremony.

Gosger posted about the mistake on Facebook. It seems he shared a post (that shows as "unavailable") and added "WOW LOOK AT ME I MADE THE BIG BOARD ... THANK YOU N.Y. METS FOR BRINGING ME BACK."

The Mets celebrated the 50th anniversary of the most iconic team in franchise history. Yet it still had one hitch.
