Washington Nationals pitching prospect Seth Romero has been sent home from spring training for violating team policy, according to published reports Monday.
Yahoo Sports was the first outlet to report Romero, 21, was told to leave the team’s facility in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Romero was drafted in the first round overall by the Nats last June after his stock dipped when he was kicked off the University of Houston’s baseball team. Romero had a history of off-field issues during his tenure with the Cougars.
A message left with the Nationals by Paste BN Sports on Monday night was not immediately returned.
