Howie Kendrick isn't going anywhere.

The 2019 NLCS MVP and Washington Nationals agreed to a one-year, $6.25 million deal, according to Paste BN Sports' Bob Nightengale.

Kendrick became a postseason legend for the Nationals during their run to the franchise's first World Series title. In Game 5 of the NLDS in Los Angeles, Kendrick launched a grand slam that broke a 3-3 deadlock in the 10th inning and advanced the Nationals in the postseason for the first time since the team moved to Washington.

As the Nationals steamrolled the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS, the 36-year-old batted .333 with four doubles and four RBI, good enough to be named the series' MVP.

His production slightly dropped in the thrilling seven-game World Series against the Houston Astros, but he rose to the occasion when it mattered most. With Washington down a run in the seventh, Kendrick banged a two-run homer off the right-field foul pole to give the Nationals a late lead in the decisive Game 7.

Over 121 games during the 2019 regular season, Kendrick hit .344/.395/.572 with 17 home runs and 62 RBI.

Kendrick first landed with the Nationals halfway through 2017 from the Philadelphia Phillies in a trade deadline deal. He signed a two-year deal that offseason and will now be with the Nats for at least one more.
