The New York Yankees took Game 1 of the American League Championship Series on Saturday, shutting out the Houston Astros in a 7-0 win at Minute Maid Park.
Gleyber Torres, Giancarlo Stanton and Gio Urshela homered for the Yankees, who hadn't played since Monday after sweeping the Minnesota Twins in the ALDS.
After Zack Greinke took the loss in Game 1, the Astros will start Justin Verlander as they try to even up the best-of-seven series. Houston had baseball's best record (107-55) in the regular season, while the Yankees (103-59) won the AL East for the first time since 2012.
