Texas Rangers offer free tickets to family who says they were harassed at game over weekend
The Texas Rangers have offered free tickets to a family that says they were harassed at one of the team's games this past weekend, per ESPN.
Jessica Romero posted on Facebook that a fan sitting behind her and her family made disparaging comments regarding Hispanic immigrants Saturday at Globe Life Park, hours after the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas. The Rangers apologized for the incident while saying they were gathering more information, and the club has since invited Romero and her family to attend any home game this year.
The Rangers say they will make the family's "next trip to Globe Life Park a memorable and enjoyable experience." The family will be the special guest of public address announcer Chuck Morgan, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
In addition to the Rangers' offer, a team season-ticket holder has volunteered four front-row seats to the Romero family for a September game, according to ESPN.
