New York City car thief also steals Yankees World Series ring
It took the Chicago Cubs 108 years to get a World Series ring.
It took a car thief in New York City one day.
Authorities in Manhattan told the New York Post a GMC Yukon that was stolen last week contained a 1977 New York Yankees World Series ring that belonged to someone who works for the team.
Also in the car was a bronze urn that held ashes belonging to the car owner’s mother, according to police.
The unidentified owner of the car discovered it stolen at about 2 a.m. last Wednesday morning. Two days following the theft, the car was located in Brooklyn, but both the 19-diamond ring and the urn were gone.
