Las Vegas Grand Prix: Race schedule, odds, and predictions for Formula 1 on the Strip

The inaugural race on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit will feature late nights and early mornings for U.S. viewers.

The penultimate round of the 2023 Formula 1 season takes the grid to the streets of Las Vegas. It's the first Formula 1 race in the city since the series ran on a track in the Caesars Palace parking lot back in 1982. It's also the third race in the U.S. in 2023 after events in Miami and Austin.

World champion Max Verstappen and Red Bull continued their dominance last time out in the Brazilian Grand Prix. They're the likely favorite but this weekend's race could be one of the coldest in Formula 1 history if current forecasts hold.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix will run on a different schedule than typical races in 2023. Instead of on-track action going from Friday morning through to Sunday afternoon, it'll be from Thursday night to Sunday morning. Officials decided to have the race on different days than usual to ensure it's easy for fans worldwide to watch.

Las Vegas Grand Prix predictions

Sporting News: Lando Norris to win

Nathan Evans writes, "This new track could work against the McLaren car which struggles in lower speed corners but at +900, backing Norris to win his first F1 race could be the play."

Betsided: A Red Bull car will not win the race

Iain MacMillan says, "Red Bull has won the large majority of races this year, but McLaren has had some strong outings lately and Ferrari is always a threat to get a win if they can manage a good race from the pit."

Ayrton Ostly, sports reporter: Carlos Sainz wins a chaotic race

Cold temperatures and a new street track will lead to a chaotic Las Vegas Grand Prix. Multiple incidents will cause a shake-up in the normal order. Instead of a typical Max Verstappen win in 2023, Carlos Sainz will use his racing acumen as well as the Ferrari's straightline speed and ability to get temperatures into the tires to get the win.
