If the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 is anything like the lead-up to this year's race, prepare for drama this Memorial Day weekend. The 2025 Indy 500 is set for its traditional Sunday green flag at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing" has already delivered a few curveballs.

Robert Shwartzman, representing Prema Racing Chevrolet in its first season on the IndyCar series, became the first rookie to claim the pole position during qualifying at the Indianapolis 500 in more than 40 years. Then came the brewing scandal involving the Team Penske cars of Will Power and two-time defending Indy 500 champion Josef Newgarden, which each failed inspection after qualifying and will start at the back of the field.

These developments have led to fluctuating odds in the betting markets ahead of Sunday's race, but a few tiers of contenders have emerged among the drivers in this year's 33-car field. Pato O'Ward, who has two runner-up finishes at the Indy 500 the past three years, is a slight favorite to get over the hump and win over a slew of former champions returning to the Brickyard.

Here's a look at where every driver in the field ranks based on their odds to win the 2025 Indianapolis 500:
