NHRA, Coca-Cola announce extension on sponsorship rights
The NHRA and Coca-Cola announced today a six-year contract extension that will keep Mello Yello as the title sponsor of the NHRA through the 2023 season.
(This partnership) is extremely important for us, and we are thrilled to have this partnership with Coca-Cola," said NHRA President Peter Clifford.
Contract negotiations took just a couple months, according to Clifford.
Coca-Cola is the only series sponsor NHRA has had, dating to 2001. Clifford said fans can expect to see more involvement from Mello Yello at NHRA events, including a Mello Yello Fan Center that will welcome fans to the track and give tours and an inside look at the NHRA.
The NHRA and Coca-Cola will hold a fan event Friday evening to officially announce the new deal. They will also unveil a car wrap for top fuel racer Antron Brown that he will run this weekend in the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.
