Qualifying rained out; Keselowski on pole at Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS — Rain washed out qualifying for Sunday's Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, meaning the starting lineup will closely resemble last year's Sprint Cup Series point standings.
Brad Keselowski, the defending series champion, was awarded the pole position. He called it a "real good perk," considering he didn't even have to make a lap.
"I was just thinking what the odds would be of a rainout in Las Vegas," Keselowski said. "The only way I'd be doing better is if I had that bet."
Clint Bowyer will start on the outside pole, followed by Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne and Greg Biffle.
Mike Bliss was the only driver to miss the race.
