NASCAR Dover start time, lineup, TV/radio schedule
DOVER, Del . — It's NASCAR race day at Dover International Speedway, and we've got some essential information you need to get ready for today's FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks.
START TIME: A FedEx executive will instruct drivers to start their engines at 1:07 Eastern time today, followed by the green flag at 1:15 p.m. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 1:15.
RACE DISTANCE: This one isn't too hard to figure out. The FedEx 400 is 400 miles around the "Monster Mile," which means it's a 400-lap race.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Country group Gloriana will sing the anthem today. The group will also perform a pre-race concert.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: FOX will broadcast today's race and has a pre-race show beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET. This is FOX's final race of the season before TNT takes over for six races starting at Pocono. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will call the race on the radio.
WEATHER: Hot and steamy — and a bit uncomfortable. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-80s and very humid. There is only a very small chance of rain.
LAST TIME: One year ago, Jimmie Johnson won his seventh career Dover race by taking a Madagascar 3-sponsored car to victory lane (he even sported a rainbow-colored wig). And last time, Brad Keselowski won the Chase race at Dover by stretching his fuel longer than anyone else; he hasn't won since.
STARTING LINEUP: Denny Hamlin won the pole position for today's race — his second straight pole at a track he calls one of his worst.
