NASCAR at Dover: Start time, lineup, TV/radio schedule
DOVER, Del. — It's NASCAR race day at Dover International Speedway, and we've got some essential information you need to get ready for Sunday's AAA 400.
START TIME: An AAA Mid-Atlantic official will instruct drivers to start their engines at 2:09 p.m. Eastern time today, followed by the green flag at 2:17 p.m. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 2:17.
RACE DISTANCE: This one isn't too hard to figure out. The AAA 400 is 400 laps around the "Monster Mile" for a total of 400 miles.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Country music artists Thompson Square will sing the national anthem prior to today's race.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: ESPN will broadcast today's race and has a pre-race show beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will call the race on the radio.
WEATHER: A gorgeous fall day is in the forecast for today's race. The National Weather Service says Dover fans will enjoy a sunny day with a high of 73 degrees.
LAST TIME: In June, Tony Stewart's late rally thwarted Juan Pablo Montoya's attempt to win his first oval race in NASCAR. Montoya had been the beneficiary of a restart penalty to Jimmie Johnson in the closing stages of the race. And one year ago, Brad Keselowski won his second race of the Chase en route to winning the 2012 championship; he has not won since.
