NASCAR at Texas: Start time, lineup, TV schedule, more
FORT WORTH, Texas — It's NASCAR race day at Texas Motor Speedway, and we've got some essential information you need to get ready for Sunday's Duck Commander 500.
START TIME: If you like Duck Dynasty, today's race is for you. "Uncle Si" Robertson will give the command for drivers to fire their engines 3:08 p.m. ET (2:08 local), followed by Phil Robertson waving the green flag at 3:16 p.m. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 3:16 p.m.
RACE DISTANCE: The Duck Commander 500 is 334 laps around the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway for a total of 501 miles. For those who don't know, Duck Commander is the company featured in the A&E show Duck Dynasty. Each of the Robertsons will play a role in the race (Jase Robertson is announcing the drivers and Sadie Robertson is giving the invocation, for example).
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Continuing with the Duck Commander trend, Missy Robertson will sing the national anthem today.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: FOX will broadcast today's race and has a pre-race show beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Performance Racing Network (PRN) will call the race on the radio.
WEATHER: Not good. The National Weather Service is calling for an 80% chance of rain, which could include showers and possibly a thunderstorm. The high will only be 57 degrees.
LAST TIME: Jimmie Johnson crushed the field at November's Texas race, leading 255 laps and winning by 4.4 seconds en route to his sixth championship. One year ago, Kyle Busch beat Martin Truex Jr. for his second win in three weeks.
STARTING LINEUP: Tony Stewart captured his first pole since Sept. 2012 at Atlanta on Saturday. Meanwhile, Team Penske's Brad Keselowski got yet another front-row start — his fifth in six attempts.
