NASCAR at Michigan: Start time, lineup, TV/radio schedule and more
BROOKLYN, Mich. — It's NASCAR race day at Michigan International Speedway, and we've got some essential information you need to get ready for today's Pure Michigan 400.
START TIME: Olympic gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White will instruct drivers to start their engines shortly after 1 p.m. Eastern time today, followed by the green flag at 1:16 p.m. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 1:16 p.m.
RACE DISTANCE: The Pure Michigan 400 is 200 laps around the 2-mile Michigan International Speedway for a total of 400 miles. Pretty simple math this week.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: ESPN will broadcast today's race and has a pre-race show beginning at noon ET. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will call the race on the radio.
WEATHER: The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies today with a high near 78 degrees. There is a 30% chance of thunderstorms.
LAST TIME: In June, Jimmie Johnson finally broke through for his first career victory at Michigan. And one year ago, Joey Logano made the winning pass for the lead when Mark Martin ran out of fuel with four laps to go.
STARTING LINEUP: For the second straight week, Jeff Gordon will start on the pole position. He also won the pole at Watkins Glen International.
