NASCAR at Dover: Start time, lineup, TV/radio schedule and more
DOVER, Del. — It's NASCAR race day at Dover International Speedway, and we've got some essential information you need to get ready for Sunday's AAA 400.
START TIME: Former NFL special teams star Brian Mitchell will instruct drivers to start their engines at 2:10 p.m. Eastern time today, followed by the green flag at 2:17 p.m. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 2:17 p.m.
RACE DISTANCE: The AAA 400 is 400 laps around the 1-mile Dover International Speedway for a total of 400 miles. No math required here.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: The USO Show Troupe, which performs for more than 600,000 troops and family members all over the world each year, will sing the national anthem today.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: ESPN will broadcast today's race and has a pre-race show beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will call the race on the radio.
WEATHER: The National Weather Service is calling for a perfect day: Sunny skies with a light breeze and temperatures in the upper 70s.
LAST TIME: Jimmie Johnson and Jimmie Johnson. Johnson won both the Dover spring race this year and the Dover Chase race one year ago. He's a nine-time Dover winner, which is the most of any driver in history.
STARTING LINEUP: Kevin Harvick won his seventh pole of the season on Friday after having just six poles in his entire career prior to 2014. Kyle Busch will start second, followed by Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin.
