NASCAR at Fontana 2016: Start time, lineup, TV schedule

FONTANA, Calif.  — It's NASCAR race day at Auto Club Speedway, and we've got some essential information you need to get ready for Sunday’s Auto Club 400.

START TIME: Actor Eric Dane is scheduled to instruct drivers to start their engines at 3:38 p.m. ET (12:38 p.m. local) today. If you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 3:47 p.m. ET for the green flag.

RACE DISTANCE: The Auto Club 400 is 200 laps around the 2-mile track for a total of 400 miles.

NATIONAL ANTHEM:  Jon Foreman will sing the anthem at 3:32 p.m. ET.

TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: Fox will broadcast today's race. The pre-race show is scheduled at 3 p.m. ET (noon local). Motor Racing Network will call the race on the radio.

WEATHER: Sunday’s forecast is excellent — partly cloudy skies with a high of 80 and almost no chance of rain.

LAST TIME: Brad Keselowski passed Kurt Busch on the final lap to win last year’s Auto Club 400, a race extended nine laps past the scheduled 200.

STARTING LINEUP: Austin Dillon scored an upset win of sorts Friday by grabbing the pole with a speed of 188.482 mph. Following in the top five will be Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Newman and Carl Edwards.
