NASCAR at Bristol night race 2016: Start time, lineup, TV schedule, more
BRISTOL, Tenn. -- It’s NASCAR race day at Bristol Motor Speedway, and we’ve got some essential information you need to get ready for Saturday’s Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race.
START TIME: Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris and several Bass Pro Shops managers are scheduled to instruct drivers to start their engines at 8:11 p.m. (ET) today. If you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV at 8:18 p.m. for the green flag.
RACE DISTANCE: The Night Race is 500 laps around the .533-mile track for a total of 266 miles.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Children from Motor Racing Outreach are scheduled to sing the national anthem at 8:02 p.m.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: NBC Sports Network will broadcast today's race. The pre-race show is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. (ET). The Performance Racing Network will call the race on the radio.
WEATHER: Today’s forecast calls for an afternoon high of 84 with a 60 percent chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
LAST TIME: Joey Logano won last year’s late-summer race at Bristol, outrunning Kevin Harvick over the closing laps.
STARTING LINEUP: Carl Edwards will start from the pole after leading qualifying for the second time this year at Bristol. He ran 131.407 mph Friday. Also in the top five are Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Ryan Blaney and Matt Kenseth.
