NASCAR at Phoenix 2016: Start time, lineup, TV schedule and more

AVONDALE, Ariz. — It’s NASCAR race day at Phoenix International Raceway, and we’ve got all the information you need to get ready for today’s Chase for the Sprint Cup race.
START TIME: Vinny Paz, the inspiration for the movie "Bleed for This," will instruct drivers to start their engines at 2:37 p.m. Eastern time today (12:37 local), followed by the green flag at 2:45 p.m.
RACE DISTANCE: The Can-Am 500 is about 500 kilometers -- not miles. That's 312 laps around the 1-mile Phoenix International Raceway for a total of 312 miles.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Dana Fischl, a member of the Military Intelligence Corps Band from Fort Huachuca, Ariz., will sing the national anthem.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: NBC will broadcast the race on TV and has a pre-race show beginning at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius/XM Radio will call the race.
LIVE STREAMING: NBC is offering a live stream through its NBC Sports app.
WEATHER: The National Weather Service is calling for a beautiful day in the desert. It will be sunny with a high of 84 and no chance of rain.
LAST TIME: In March, Kevin Harvick won yet another Phoenix race -- his sixth victory in the last eight races here. And one year ago, Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the race when it was shortened by rain.
STARTING LINEUP: Tucson native Alex Bowman won his first career pole position. He is subbing for Earnhardt, who is out with a concussion, in the No. 88 car.
