NASCAR at Homestead 2016: Start time, lineup, TV schedule, more
HOMESTEAD, Fla. — It’s NASCAR race day at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and we’ve got all the information you need to get ready for Sunday's Sprint Cup Series championship race.
START TIME: Justin Hartley from NBC’s This is Us, will instruct drivers to start their engines at 2:52 p.m. Eastern time today, followed by the green flag at 3 p.m.
RACE DISTANCE: The Ford EcoBoost 400 is 267 laps around the 1.5-mile Homestead-Miami Speedway for a total of 400 miles.
NATIONAL ANTHEM/FLYOVER: JenCarlos Canela will sing the national anthem prior to today’s race, followed by a flyover from four F-16s from nearby Homestead Air Force Reserve Base.
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: NBC will broadcast the race on TV and has a pre-race show beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius/XM Radio will call the race on the radio.
LIVE STREAMING: NBC is offering a live stream through its NBC Sports app.
WEATHER: The National Weather Service is calling for a nice day in South Florida, with a high near 77 degrees. The only slight unpleasantness could be the wind, which is expected to gust near 20 mph.
LAST TIME: Last year, Kyle Busch won both the race and the championship to clinch his first career Sprint Cup Series title.
STARTING LINEUP: Though he’s no longer in championship contention, Kevin Harvick isn’t going into the offseason quietly. The Stewart-Haas Racing driver won the pole for today’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, which is also the last Sprint Cup race for Harvick's boss and teammate Tony Stewart before he retires as a NASCAR driver.
