NASCAR at New Hampshire 2017: Start time, lineup, TV schedule, more
It's race day at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and we’ve got all the information you need to get ready for today's Overton's 301 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race:
START TIME: Parker Overton, founder of Overton’s, will instruct drivers to start their engines at 3:07 p.m. ET, followed by the green flag at 3:15 p.m. ET.
RACE DISTANCE: The Overton's 301 is 301 laps around the 1.058-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway for a total of 318.46 miles.
SEGMENTS: Beginning this season, NASCAR is dividing every race into segments and awarding one bonus point to the winner of each stage. Segment lengths will be different for every race. Also, the top 10 finishers of the first two segments will be awarded regular-season points in descending order from 10 to 1. Here are the segments for the Overton's 301: Stage 1: 75 laps; Stage 2: 75 laps; Stage 3: 151 laps.
NATIONAL ANTHEM/FLYOVER: Country singer Jodie Cunningham will perform the American national anthem and Kyle Masterson will perform the Canadian national anthem before Sunday's race, followed by a flyover by A-1E Skyraider and F4U Corsair from The Collings Foundation.
MORE NASCAR:
TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: NBC Sports Network will broadcast the race on TV and has a pre-race show beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET. Performance Racing Network and Sirius/XM Radio will call the race on the radio.
LIVE STREAMING: NBCSports.com will live-stream the race for those who sign in with their cable/satellite provider's credentials.
WEATHER: The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies and calm winds around 5 mph wiht a high near 87 degrees.
LAST TIME: Kevin Harvick took the lead with six laps remaining and held off Matt Kenseth to win the first-round playoff race in 2016. And one year ago, Kenseth won his second consecutive race at New Hampshire after leading the final 31 laps.
STARTING LINEUP: Points leader Martin Truex Jr. will start on the pole after Kyle Larson failed post-qualifying inspection. Larson, who lost the points lead to Truex earlier this week after being docked 35 points by NASCAR for failing post-race inspection at Kentucky, posted the fastest time in qualiffying but will have to start from the rear of the field.
