NASCAR chairman Brian France, Dale Jarrett among attendees at Robert Yates' funeral

CHARLOTTE -- Several hundred people, including numerous NASCAR officials, drivers and former stars of the sport, attended Friday morning’s funeral for championship car owner and engine builder Robert Yates.
Yates’ service was held at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Yates died Monday at 74 after battling cancer. He was elected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame this year and will be inducted in January.

Among those attending Friday’s service were NASCAR chairman Brian France, drivers Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Trevor Bayne, Aric Almirola and retired drivers Bobby Allison and Donnie Allison.
Among the pallbearers were Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett - who won the 1999 Cup Series title with Yates - and former Yates team crew chiefs Larry McReynolds and Todd Parrott.
