Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s spotter leaving Hendrick Motorsports, will join Joey Logano in 2018

With Dale Earnhardt Jr. retiring from Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing at the end of the season, it's only fitting that his friend and longtime spotter, T.J. Majors, steps away with him.
Majors will depart Hendrick Motorsports after the 2017 season comes to a close. He posted an announcement on his Twitter account Monday afternoon confirming that this season will be his last with the No. 88 team.
On Earnhardt's Dirty Mo Radio podcast Monday, Majors said he would spot for Team Penske's Joey Logano in 2018.
Majors has been Earnhardt's spotter since 2008, the year Earnhardt joined Hendrick Motorsports.

"I would like to thank Mr. Hendrick and everyone at the organization for an incredible 10+ years that have provided me countless friendships and memories that I will forever be grateful for," Majors wrote. "I look forward to ending the season strong with Dale and our No. 88 team, as well as what the future holds for me and my family."
In 1997, Majors met Earnhardt playing iRacing. The online racing experience helped Majors better understand racing and build a friendship with Earnhardt. Majors later went on to race Late Models and street stocks for JR Motorsports, the organization Earnhardt co-owns and operates with his sister Kelley.
When Earnhardt moved from Dale Earnhardt Inc. to Hendrick after the 2007 season, he brought Majors with him.
With Majors help, Earnhardt finished seventh Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway. The duo have five races remaining this season, beginning Oct. 22 at Kansas Speedway.
