NASCAR at Kansas 2020: Start time, lineup, TV schedule and more for Super Start Batteries 400
NASCAR will hold another rare mid-week Cup race when the series hits Kansas Speedway Thursday night for a race that was originally scheduled in May. Here's all the information you need to get ready for Thursday's Super Start Batteries 400 Presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts:
START TIME: 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. local).
TV: NBCSN. Pre-race broadcast begins at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. local).
RADIO: Motor Racing Network. STREAMING: stream.nbcsports.com, for those who can sign in with their cable/satellite provider's credentials.
RACE DISTANCE: 267 laps around the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway for a total of 400.5 miles.
STAGE LENGTHS (laps per stage): Stage 1: 80, Stage 2: 80, Stage 3: 107.
LAST TIME: Denny Hamlin dominated last year's playoff race at Kansas, leading 153 laps, including the final 51, in October before edging Chase Elliott by 0.128 seconds. In May 2019, Brad Keselowski, who led only 12 laps, bested Alex Bowman in overtime by 0.205 seconds.
QUALIFYING: No practice sessions or qualifying was held at Kansas, so the starting lineup was determined by a random draw among groups in the team owner standings:
- Positions 1-12: Random draw from charter teams in those positions in owner points
- Positions 13-24: Random draw from charter teams in those positions in owner points
- Positions 25-36: Random draw from charter teams in those positions in owner points
- Positions 37-40: Open teams in order of owners points
LINEUP: Ford drivers drew the top four positions with points leader Kevin Harvick taking the pole position. Harvick has three career wins at Kansas.
