David Lee working on deal with Mavericks
The NBA’s buyout season has begun with some recognizable names trying to find a home for the rest of the season and perhaps the playoffs.
Forward David Lee, who was waived/bought out by the Celtics, is working on a deal with the Dallas Mavericks, and forward Steve Novak, who was waived by Denver after being traded by Oklahoma City, plans to sign a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to multiple people familiar with the moves.
They requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly until the deals were official.
Forward Anderson Varejao, who was waived by Portland after Cleveland traded him, is exploring options as he waits to clear waivers, but he has interest from Western Conference powers, according to ESPN.
On Saturday, new Nets general manager Sean Marks waived forward Andrea Bargnani.
Denver forward J.J. Hickson also was waived by Denver.
