Kendrick Perkins ejected for clothesline on Damian Lillard

New Orleans Pelicans center Kendrick Perkins clotheslined Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard midway through the fourth quarter Friday night, sending him to the floor and causing a brief skirmish between the two teams.

Perkins was given a Flagrant 2 foul and ejected from the game. Lillard, who finished the game, hit both free throws to help the Blazers win 117-112.

“It was dirty for sure, but it’s a physical game,” Lillard said after the game, according to forwardcenter.net, an official Blazers web site. “I’m from Oakland, I’ve been punched before, I’ve been tackled before. It was a cheap play, but to me, it didn’t feel as bad as it might have looked. My focus was on winning the game and that was just two points easier than it probably would have been if I had gotten to the rim.”

This wasn't the first time that Perkins — currently in his 13th season — was ejected for an unnecessarily hard foul.
