Charlotte Hornets' Kemba Walker undergoes successful meniscus surgery

Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker underwent successful surgery on Monday morning to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, the team announced.

He is expected to be able to resume basketball activities in early July. He had surgery performed on the same knee for a torn lateral meniscus last season and was forced to miss 18 games.

Walker averaged career-highs of 20.9 points and 42.7% shooting this season to go along with 5.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals while leading the Hornets to the most wins (48) since the 1999-00 season.

He finished the regular season second in the NBA's Most Improve Player voting behind C.J. McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers.
