Steve Kerr: Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson can take 'any shots they want'
The Golden State Warriors' sharpshooting backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were uncharacteristically cold from the field in Thursday night's Game 1 Finals victory (combined 8-of-27). In hopes of a Game 2 bounce-back from the All-NBA backcourt, Warriors coach Steve Kerr might just have the secret formula: Letting them shoot.
Surprised?
"Those guys are allowed to take any shots they want. That's the rule," the Coach of the Year said in Sunday's pregame press conference. "Steph and Klay are, nobody else is. I trust their judgment."
"... So bad shots for those guys, it's a different definition from everybody else," Kerr continued. "I was fine with the shots that they took in Game 1. They'll be in a better rhythm, I'm sure, tonight, and I'd be surprised if they didn't get going."
Tip-off is at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
