Warriors break franchise record for fewest first-quarter points scored
The Golden State Warriors broke a record during Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night.
It wasn't your typical Warriors record.
The league's most high-powered offense scored 11 points in the first quarter, which was, according to Warriors PR, the fewest points the franchise has scored in an opening quarter in the playoffs in the shot clock era.
The shot clock was introduced in 1954.
Harrison Barnes went 0-for-5 from the field, Klay Thompson went 1-for-5, Shaun Livingston went 1-for-4, and their leading scorer was Stephen Curry with just 3 points.
The Cavaliers, on the other hand, came out on fire, scoring 31 points led by LeBron James (9 points, 4 assists), Kyrie Irving (7 points) and Tristan Thompson (7 points, 9 rebounds).
Looks like the Cavaliers have no plans of letting the Warriors celebrate an NBA championship in their locker room for the second year in a row.
