Trail Blazers match Nets' offer sheet on Allen Crabbe

The Portland Blazers matched the Brooklyn Nets’ offer sheet for restricted free-agent guard Allen Crabbe and will keep the third-year guard from Cal on a four-year, $75 million contract, a person with direct knowledge of the deal told Paste BN Sports.

The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the deal until it is official.

Crabbe signed Brooklyn’s offer sheet on Thursday, and the Blazers had three deals under league rules to match. Portland likes Crabbe’s trajectory and wanted to keep him, giving the Blazers a strong backcourt with Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum and Crabbe.

Crabbe averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists and shot 39.3% on three-pointers in 81 games (eight starts) for Portland last season. Per 36 minutes, he averaged 14.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals.
