Actor Michael Rapaport sounds off on Knicks, arrest of Charles Oakley

As if New York Knicks fans weren't already disgusted with the state of the franchise, things hit a new low on Wednesday night when Charles Oakley — a staple of the team throughout the 1990s — was arrested at Madison Square Garden.
Of all the reactions throughout the NBA world after the incident, one from actor and longtime Knicks fan Michael Rapaport might take the cake.
"Arresting Charles Oakley in Madison Square Garden — you might as well arrest the pope at the Vatican," an animated Rapaport said on Undisputed Thursday morning. "That's how we feel about Charles Oakley. New Yorkers, that's how we feel about certain guys. John Starks, Patrick Ewing, X-Man (Xavier McDaniel), the late, great Anthony Mason."
"There's certain people, they can do no wrong. They should build a state outside the Garden," Rapaport continued. "We have nothing going on. We have a team that gets hard fouled by the Cleveland Cavaliers — what's his name, hard fouled him last week, the guy who can't grow any hair on his face, used to play for the Nets, he's on the Cleveland Cavaliers — Richard Jefferson. He can't even grow a beard. They're up 18 points, he hard fouls the Knicks, when they're up by 18, no one bats an eye. We have no fight. (Last night) was the most fight a Knick has shown in 20 years."
But Rapaport wasn't done here. The actor hopped on The Herd to air some more grievances.
"What happened last night was a tipping point for all the New York Knicks fans," Rapaport said, as animated as before. "This has been going on since 1973. It exemplifies our frustration, our dysfunction and our heartbreak since 1973. The last time we had hope of winning a championship, you know who was an All-Star? First Team Defense? Charles Oakley."
