Warriors' Kevin Durant dined at famed Oklahoma City steakhouse after denial

After he’d endured the “cupcake” chants and withstood the taunting from his former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates, Kevin Durant wound up in a familiar place following Saturday night’s 130-114 Golden State Warriors’ win.
Durant and several Warriors teammates ate at Mahogany Prime Steakhouse Saturday night, according to ESPN, the same restaurant that initially denied Durant’s request to rent out the entire restaurant. The restaurant, just blocks from Chesapeake Energy Arena, had been a popular hangout for Durant and his Thunder teammates during his eight seasons in Oklahoma City.
Even more interesting than the fact that Durant dined in the same place that had initially rebuffed his business?
Russell Wesbrook was at the establishment as well but was seated in a different area, according to the outlet. The two did not interact, which shouldn’t be a surprise given their heated on-court exchange Saturday night.
More on Durant's return:
Durant’s party had initially called restaurant owner Dave Osborn and asked to rent out the entire restaurant. They claimed they would’ve spent anywhere from $30,000 to $35,000, but Osborn wasn’t interested.
“All the Thunder players come in and we don’t want them to be upset,” Osborn told Paste BN Sports’ Sam Amick. “And in the long run, I think we lose business. We just wanted to stay true to our fans and our players and not book out the restaurant for one night.”
That denial evidently wasn’t enough to stop Durant from digging in at his favorite joint.
