Report: LaVar Ball has autograph deal with trading card company

The merchandise train never stops for LaVar Ball.
The outspoken father of projected NBA draft lottery pick Lonzo Ball now has his own trading card deal.
Ball signed 200 Leaf Trading Cards with his name and face on them, according to ESPN. Most significantly, the cards feature one of Ball’s outlandish sayings, such as, “I am better than Jordan” or “Lonzo better than Steph Curry.”
Ball, who signed the cards at his California home last week, did not reveal how much he received for the deal, which was negotiated by 11Media Group of Las Vegas.
“This wasn’t all about the money,” Ball said. “I think it’s cool to have a card.”
Ball also had trading cards that poked fun at his son’s signature ZO2 sneakers, which were crafted under the family’s Big Baller Brand and run at $495. The most notable card saying was, “If you can’t afford the ZO2’s, you’re not a big baller.” Another card referenced, “$1 billion was a discount”— a saying Ball used after shoe companies Nike, Under Armour and Adidas passed on a co-branded shoe deal with the Balls.
But don’t expect LaVar’s trading cards to break the bank as much as the ZO2s. Leaf CE Brian Gray told ESPN that the cards will be on sale starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday with a fixed price tag of $59.95 — still a steep price for a single trading card.
Gray added that the trading card was created because LaVar is a “significant pop culture icon” and that “we’ll now see if the market is real” based on what the cards will resell for.
