Dwyane Wade, Cleveland Cavaliers nearing contract agreement

Dwyane Wade is nearing a contract agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers and plans to sign with the team once he clears waivers, a person with direct knowledge of the negotiations confirmed to Paste BN Sports. The person spoke under the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
Wade, 35, agreed to a contract buyout with Chicago Bulls over the weekend after one season with the team. The 12-time All-Star won two of his three NBA championships alongside longtime friend LeBron James with the Miami Heat.
James, who worked out with Wade earlier this month, said Monday at media day that he would "love" to have Wade on the Cavs.
While Cavs coach Ty Lue couldn’t comment on Wade, he answered a generic question about adding new players.
“There’s a challenge every year when you add new guys and add all the guys we added,” Lue said. “Four or five new guys, it’s always tough and challenging. Anytime you get new pieces and new players it’s always challenging, but I’m up for the challenge and so are the players. We will figure it out. It will be a good year for us.”
Wade posted a picture of he and James on Instagram after their workout with the caption: "To say we had a great week of work would be an understatement. We both helped push each other to go outside of our comfort zones. #Itjusfeelsdifferent #Year15 #Brotherhood."
Though Wade isn't the perennial All-NBA guard he once was, he averaged 18.3 points and 4.5 rebounds last season and figures to play a significant role with the Cavs as they look to advance to the NBA Finals for the fourth consecutive season.
ESPN first reported that Wade and the Cavs were nearing an agreement.
