Hawks' Dennis Schroder arrested on misdemeanor battery charge

Atlanta Hawks guard Dennis Schroder was arrested Friday on a misdemeanor battery charge, according to online court records. 

Schroder was arrested in DeKalb County on the single charge on Friday. The Hawks said in a statement the club was “aware of an incident” involving Schroder. 

“We are still gathering information as it pertains to this situation, and out of respect for the legal process, we have no further comment at this time,” the Hawks said in the statement.

ESPN was the first outlet to report that Schroder had been arrested in a suburb of Atlanta.
