PORTLAND, Ore. — A large truck hauling a dumpster crashed into the backyard swimming pool of a southwest Portland home owned by Portland Trail Blazers forward Evan Turner on Wednesday morning.

The driver of the truck, who has not been identified, was rescued from the crash. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Oregon Health and Science University Medical Center, according to a report in the Oregonian.

The Oregonian reported the cab of the truck was partially submerged in the pool and the driver was pinned inside the vehicle. One crew member had to hold his head up out of the water while the rest of the rescue crew used the jaws of life and were able to free the driver from the truck.

The crash happened in the 1500 block of Southwest Upper Hall Street.
