Hawks finalize buyout with veteran Marco Belinelli

The Atlanta Hawks and guard Marco Belinelli finalized a buyout agreement on Friday, a person with knowledge of the situation told Paste BN Sports.

The person requested anonymity because the deal wasn't officially done.

Belinelli was widely believed to be on the move ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, but the veteran three-point shooter remained with the team through Thursday afternoon. 

A potential valuable addition off the bench once he becomes a free agent, Belinelli is averaging 11.4 points on 37% three-point shooting this season. 

Teams have until March 1 to add players who would be eligible for playoff rosters.
