Former NBA All-Star Steve Francis was arrested Sunday night for public intoxication, Burbank Police confirmed to Paste BN Sports.
Officers had responded to a report of an “unruly patron” in a hotel bar when they confronted Francis.
Francis was arrested and taken to the Burbank City Jail before he was released on a citation.
The incident comes less than two weeks after Francis detailed in gut-wrenching fashion on the Players’ Tribune how he went from dealing drugs to the NBA. Francis, in his essay, said he never did crack, but he “was drinking heavily” after his career ended in 2008.
