Miami Heat forward Justise Winslow has been fined $15,000 by the NBA for unsportsmanlike conduct "for intentionally stepping on and attempting to damage the facemask of Philadelphia's Joel Embiid," the league announced on Friday night.

The incident occurred in the second quarter of Philadelphia's eventual Game 3 victory.

Embiid, who was making his playoff debut after suffering an orbital fracture near the end of the season, had gotten tangled up with Miami's Kelly Olynyk, causing part of his mask to fall apart.

Winslow then walked over to the dislodged portion of his mask, stepped on it and picked it up.

After the game, Embiid said: "As far as the mask, Justise stepped on it and tried to break it with his hands," Embiid said. "But little do they know I have about 50 of them. It's going to take much more than that to get me out of this series. I'm going to be a nightmare for them, too."

The Sixers won 128-108, and Game 4 is Saturday night.
